Refresh Your Living Room

Here are some easy ways to provide your living space with a fresh new look this Spring/Summer without having to fork out for a complete renew. These simple tricks are used by interior designers and home stagers all the time to provide freshness to a room when working within strict budgets and there’s no reason you can’t employ these same tricks to get a great new look at a reasonable price!Modern Living Room

So let’s get started...

Trick #1 – Cover Stuff Up.

If your sofa has seen better days but you're not quite ready to replace them, you may consider using a slipcover if the couch itself is still in good condition. Using white slipcovers may seem counter-productive if you have pets or kids but simply chucking them in the wash with some bleach will make them easy to maintain and give a lovely summery look in your home too.

Trick #2 – Add A Large Colourful Rug.

If your flooring has seen better days, perhaps a large bright rug is your best bet to giving it a whole new look. Geometric and patterned carpet is a big trend for 2015 and creating texture and interest to your floors is a simple update to make. Just make sure the rug is big enough so that the furniture round it has at least the front legs are on the rug to give the space the right scale.

Trick #3 – Add Patterned Drapes To A Neutral Room.

A neutrally decorated room can obtain a bit of energy and an eclectic, fun touch when you enhance it with large scale patterned curtains. A punchy graphic design in black and white creates interest and keeping the curtains unlined allow as much light in as possible.

Trick #4 – Get Creative With Your Coffee Table.

Rather than using it as merely a depository for your remote control, consider treating your coffee table as a display area. A few stacks of beautiful books, a vase of blooms and a tray to corral some lovely bits and bobs are all it takes to give your space a contemplated new look.

Trick #5 – Move Around Your Furniture Placement.

Moving furniture away from the wall where viable gives a room a better flow and keeps it from looking like the Doctor’s waiting room! Pulling furniture closer to the centre creates conversation areas and intimacy while giving it room to breathe.

Trick #6 – Add Plant Life.

There’s nothing quite like a houseplant to add some light and life to a room. Consider hanging them from the ceiling in front of your windows for a cute vibe.

Trick #7 – Add lighting.

Whether it’s a simple drum pendant, elegant chandelier or a vintage retro piece. The lighting really can make a difference in a room. Contemplate changing your overhead light to give your living room space a whole new look!

I hope my tips today help you give you some ideas on giving your living room a fresh new look!
